Can an osteopath help a baby not sleeping?

Sleep challenges in infants would be a nightmare, if either of you were asleep. Osteopathic care may contribute to improved sleep patterns by addressing factors such as musculoskeletal tension, digestive issues, or general discomfort. Our hamilton osteo's work collaboratively with parents to understand the unique needs of each baby, tailoring the approach to promote relaxation and better sleep. Our osteopath Jessica has done extra training in baby sleep science and offers this advice alongside her usual osteopathic care.

When should my baby see an osteopath?

This is trickey to answer but generally speaking it's advisable for parents to consider osteopathic care for their baby if they notice signs of discomfort, asymmetry in movement, or if there are concerns about overall well-being. this may be from as young as a few hours old (which we've had). Common reasons include difficulty breastfeeding, tounge tie(s), excessive crying, traumatic or otherwise intresting birth or unusual head shape. While routine check-ups are beneficial, seeking osteopathic care promptly when issues arise can help address potential problems early.

How often should a baby see an osteopath?

The frequency of osteopathic visits for babies depends on individual needs. In some cases, a single session may be sufficient, while others might benefit from a series of appointments. Our practitioners at TLC Osteopaths will assess your baby's condition and provide personalized recommendations. Regular check-ups can also play a preventive role in maintaining your baby's optimal health.
